Elvis first wore the White Phoenix suit in Huntsville, Al. on May 30, 1975. The suit was worn six times during the May/June 1975 tour, four times during the July 1975 tour and three times during the March 1976 tour. The suit was also worn at least twice during the December 1975 Las Vegas engagement. The suit was worn for the last time at the after-noon show in Charlotte, N.C. on March 20-1976. |
Elvis wore three different belts with this suit. Oddly enough he wore the belt that belongs to the Black Phoenix suit the first time he wore the White Phoenix suit. During the December 1975 Las Vegas season as well as on the March 1976 tour Elvis introduced a third belt. He also wore the original belt during these shows. |
Below I have put together some information which is useful when dating photos. Almost all the photos of Elvis in the White Phoenix suit can be dated by looking at which belt he wears, which colour clothes the band wears and how many pieces of tape are on the microphone cords as well as which colour.
