On January 22, 1955 Elvis appeared on the Louisiana Hayride for the third time of the year. He is seen playing his Martin D-18 which he had acquired just a couple of weeks earlier. Steel player Sonny Trammel had just returned to the Hayride and accompanied Elvis along with Scotty Moore and Bill Black. Although not visible in the photo Leon Post most likely played the piano during one or more of Elvis’ songs which consisted of : “That’s All Right, Mama,” “Blue Moon Of Kentucky,” “Money Honey” and “I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine” The photo comes from a colour slide and the colours are authentic. | |
